Are you grateful for your problems?

Often we get frustrated in life. Generally, when things do not go the way we want them to. I have definitely been there multiple times.

We take life as granted, even when we see, read, hear, know about people dying everyday. The underlying assumption being we are special, and will be here for a long time. This helps in keeping the balance between now and the future, and work towards future goals.

Yet, at the same time we need to realise that of all people that do not make it to the next day, it is either because of bad choice(s) or bad luck. Every day that we make it, we have been lucky. Not all of our choices had been correct, we have been lucky to be reading this.

Given our food choices, our environment, and all other factors, there is a small chance that you(I) stop existing the very next moment. No matter how small this factor, it does translate into people not making it.

Given a choice between the challenge / problem / inconvenience versus being in the unlucky few, what choice would you prefer?

I am now transitioning into looking at all of them from the angle of being grateful, to be in a position to face the problem, rather than being in a position of not having one.

Inconvenience— Grateful that I woke up in the morning, grateful that I am in this position.

Does this mean I am content or do not want to challenge status quo? Far from it. It is only when I cannot do anything about the given situation, at the given moment, instead of becoming frustrated, I think of the above and let calmness flow.

Does it work every time? No, but whenever it does, I am grateful for it.
